PARIS HILTON - NOTHING IN THIS WORLD

Paris Hilton "Nothing in this World" Album Review
All you haters out there...what's your problem?
Okay, Paris' reputation has preceeded her, but this single, along with the remixes and in fact her entire album, i awesome. I also own these remixes on vinyl and when I spin them in the club the people go nuts for it. I take it to mean they like the song.
I give Paris props for trying to actually make a name for herself outside of "I'm famous for being famous". The song is good, buy it. The album is good, buy it. The remixes are good, so shut up and dance.

DJ KAWASAKI - BEAUTIFUL

DJ Kawasaki "Beautiful" Album Review
The Return of Mr. MPC 3000
The reason why I call DJ Kawasaki "Mr. MPC 3000" is that he is known for using an Akai MPC 3000 drum machine for making his fabulous beats.
DJ Kawasaki was a newcomer DJ in 2006. However in 2007 he has already established himself greatly in the underground club scene in Tokyo and now he is an ambassador for Japanese club and dance music. He runs with the "Freedom Time" crew. Freedom Time is an artist and event management company in Japan that has such acts as Shuya & Yoshihiro Okino (Kyoto Jazz Massive), Sleep Walker, and Hajime Yoshizawa.
DJ Kawasaki usually makes his own original compositions in music, but this album also we find him remixing others songs as well. The album is composed of 10 tracks, some stronger than others. The album starts off with a short slow solo piano melody similar to the intro track on his first album "Beautiful" and then it switches and breaks into the first song "Release The Light" which is a great sounding track of it's own with some nicely sang vocals. Track 2 "Let's Get Started" send the album into an all out upbeat disco! Fast, lively, it simply makes me want to get down and groove. This is what house music is suppose to be. This music will not harm your soul one bit.
In 2004 Kyoto Jazz Massive had celebrated their 10th anniversary for DJing by releasing three compilation anniversary albums. The second album in this compilation called "FOR KJM" featured a KJM song called "Endless Flight", and it sounded great. The third track on DJ Kawasaki's Beautiful Too is a remix of that track. The track has been changed from nu-jazz to becoming a all out house song. I like both of them equally. It's not better than the original but not worse either.
"Bright Like Light" featuring Lena is an average sounding house song, the synths have a heavy bass sound which I like. "Remind Me" is a listener for sure, here we are presented with another groove track, soulful, slow tempo but fast enough to get down to. Do you dig? Simply hotness!
The 6th track is the album's showcase track for me. It is good and bad for these reasons. It sounds amazing but it has been edited and cut short. This version was edited by DJ Kawasaki for radio play. Originally done by Shuya Okino (KJM), it is flawless.
"Sweet Way" is a remix of a Hajime Yoshizawa composition, an instrumental with a moderate listening sound quality. The 8th track "Promises" is a remix of one of DJ Kawasaki's own tracks off of his original album Beautiful. The vocals are done by Terrance Downs. The original was way better sounding, I don't know why he would tamper with something that wasn't broken. Maybe his intentions was to make a great song even greater. You can't blame him for trying.
The last two songs "Let Go", and "Isn't She Lovely" send the album off in the right direction even though particularly not my favorites. The last song being a remix of a song done "Studio Apartment" which in itself is a remake of a Stevie Wonder song. I like Stevie's original still the best.
The photo on the front and back of the CD jewel case is of a famous Japanese model name Lena. I like it (smiles).

RON HALL AND THE MUTHAFUNKAZ - THE WAY YOU LOVE ME

Ron Hall and the Muthafunkaz "The Way You Love Me" Album Review
Album Description
Now this is what house music is really all about! Musically this is superb, with a great beat that's chunky yet interesting. The keys are jazzy yet unique sounding, the flute is subtle & blends in nicely. All in all this is extremely deep & soulful. Defected. 2006.
Video Mashup - Serenity vs. The way you love me
As a response to the mashup competition of the DJ Tutor, I did this mashup. Channel 1: Armin van Buuren ft. Jan Vayne - Serenity Channel 2: Ron Hall and The MuthaFunkaz - The Way You Love Me (Acapella) Channel 2 and 3: Drum loops As you see, I used my DS to play Serenity. Yes, I am using a flashcard; no, I'm not gonna explain how it works. Comments concerning my DS or flashcard will be deleted. As you see I'm still using my PC, and I will keep using it. Next month I'll have my turntables with timecode vinyl so I can do the real work =)
